Garlasco, "unknown" DNA found in Chiara Poggi's mouth: multiple people suspected at the crime scene

The investigation
Yet another sensational turning point in the investigation into the murder of Chiara Poggi , the 26-year-old killed on August 13, 2007 by her then-boyfriend Alberto Stasi , the only person to have been definitively sentenced to 16 years in prison for that crime.
A case now reopened with the registration in the register of suspects of Andrea Sempio , at the time of the events a friend of Chiara's younger brother.
Eighteen years later, as revealed by the initial findings of the preliminary investigation currently underway for the new investigation by the Milan Carabinieri and the Pavia prosecutor's office into the Garlasco crime, a trace of DNA, not yet attributed, has been found in Chiara Poggi's mouth .
These are, as explained by Corriere della Sera, the analyses carried out by geneticist Denise Albani , an expert appointed by the Court, on the oropharyngeal swab acquired by coroner Marco Ballardini in 2007 during the autopsy and which had never been subject to verification before.
Initial comparisons conducted by the parties' consultants have revealed that the "Y" genetic material cannot be attributed to either Alberto Stasi or Andrea Sempio . This is why, pending further confirmation and more in-depth analysis, the investigation is increasingly focusing on the hypothesis of multiple people participating in Chiara's murder .
The presence of a "third party" DNA in Chiara's mouth could be linked to a possible reaction of the 26-year-old to the attack she suffered that morning in the family home, perhaps with a hand clamped over Chiara's face to block the young woman's attempt to call for help.
The Poggi family is advocating calm while they await further, clearer results. Chiara's parents' lawyer, Gian Luigi Tizzoni, explains: "We're calm, we're not worried. We're limiting ourselves to the certain fact: the sample being contaminated."
